Leading Brand of Fashion Accessories
Michelle Phillips has a great gig going in Gig Harbor, Washington with her Dolly Mama Designs. No stranger to fashion, she was an employee at Nordstrom’s, known for superior customer service and high quality merchandising. She became interested in golf fashion for the usual reason – she was unhappy with the feminine selections on the market. The Audrey visor was her first design, a comfortable fitting clip on visor with a 4-inch brim to shade the eyes. It is available in many colors and prints with Swarovski crystal embellishments to match all outfits.
Ten years ago Michelle met Susan Hess, the like-minded owner of Golftini at the PGA Merchandise show in Orlando. They co-market their goods on one another’s websites and it was Susan who brought her to my attention at the 2016 show across the aisle. They will both return with their latest styles at the ’17 Show.
Today Michelle is happy to make custom logo or design products for any special event, either with embroidery or Swarovski crystals and we’re not just talking visors, but bags, towels, t-shirts and even seat covers which one customer bragged about on her website. A huge part of her daily gig is the operations of two brick and mortar boutiques, one waterfront in Gig Harbor. She is also ramping up distribution in shops across the country while mainstream merchandise is available on the web. There are many pink ribbon options and a very diverse lineup of products. You might not expect to find a cashmere poncho for example, but there it is, a soft cover to dress up any occasion. And who would think of looking for bikini panties along with visors? Yep, she partners with other successful fashionistas, in the case of lingerie, “Jane Knows.” Jane, a former executive with Pepsi and Heinz, now operating a career website and obviously more, turns out to be Michelle’s best friend and perhaps another story.
