Puma’s First Golf Shoe With Outlast/Disc Technology
Puma has added some exciting new technology to its golf footwear series. Puma’s TITANTOUR is said to be the “coolest shoe in golf.” Players can now use the micro-adjusting dial system, called Disc technology, to get a custom fit. So, instead of the traditional laces (which can be a pain to keep re-tying while you’re walking the golf course) you can just simply turn the dial to the right, which tightens the upper part of the shoe. Not only does this create a custom fit, but it also enhances the stability of the shoe by locking the foot in place. Likewise, turning the dial to the left releases the wire laces, allowing the shoe to be easily removed.
This is also the very first golf shoe with Outlast, a temperature regulation technology developed for the space program, designed to keep your foot noticeably cooler, even as the competition heats up.
Here’s how the Titantour Outlast Technology works:
1. Excess heat is absorbed by the Outlast coating on TITANTOUR’s memory foam insole, creating a noticeable cooling effect on your foot.
2. Excess heat is stored by Outlast away from the foot.
3. Stored heat is released back to your foot if it gets too cold. TITANTOUR with Outlast is a shoe that’s not too hot, not too cold, but just right for golf.
Other great features of the Titan Tour are the ultra-thin frame which increases flexibility, extra external heel support to help with stability and Shape Lock memory foam for a customized fit and cushioning on every step.
The low-profile cleats use K5 to enhance durability, helping the spikes last longer. For support and traction, secondary walls are placed around the cleats, and the outsole has flex grooves that allow the foot to move naturally.
The Titan Tour is available in seven color combinations with a two-year waterproof guarantee, and though I’ve only worn them once, I can say that my feet had never felt more comfortable after walking for 4.5 hours on the golf course. It’s definitely worth checking out.
Which PGA Tour players will be wearing the shoes this year?
Rickie Fowler, Jonas Blixt, Will MacKenzie, Jesper Parnevik. This shoe is exactly what our PGA tour players were asking for and now we’ve got them.
The Puma Titan Tour shoes (~$190) can be purchased at golf retail stores and Puma Golf online.
