New Balance has had repeated success they had in cross training and running with the Minimus design in golf when they introduced the Minimus golf shoe almost two years ago as part of their initial entry into the golf market. It was an outstanding success building a loyal following with its light weight, low-profile fit and comfortable feel.
The newest Minimus, the 1005, is built on the Minimus running last which allows for a natural feel of the ground, something traditional golf shoes usually don’t provide. The lightweight, athletic styling is combined with a waterproof microfiber leather upper and ultralight “FantomFit: support with New Balance’s REVLite 4mm drop midsole for lightweight cushioning.
The wider forefoot of the Miniumus 1005 gives the wear’s toes plenty of room and a shallow toe depth provides better ground feel. The package is completed with an Ortholite insole for cool, dry comfort and NDurance rubber outsole to give durability in high-wear areas. Each pair is backed by a two-year waterproof warranty.
Presently available in men’s styles of black and grey/green with grey/orange in stores on Feb. 15, 2016, they retail for $119.95 a pair.
